Personal Interests

Hiking: Living in California and having lived in Oregon, it is hard not to be ecstatic about all the scenic and wonderful hiking trails, which exist here in an abundance.
Music: I enjoy listening to new-age/ambient music and contemporary tunes, like Steve Roach, Pat Metheny, US3, Deep Forest, Underworld, Seal, Steps Ahead and many more.; Once back in the last century I actually also played some instruments (drums, bass, violin, flutes).
Sports: I like running, mountain biking, diving, soccer, beach volley and working out, while only watching formula one and road racing...; Actually, my winter holidays are occasionally used for active (after-)skiing too!; Decades ago (..) I also practiced Taekwon-do and played soccer - for several years during my teens.
Motorcycling: What a great feeling driving my bike compared to being trapped in the four wheeled metal case also known as a car. Cruising down along Pacific Highway 1 or up around Mt Saint Helens is beyond words. Style wise I lean toward the fine cutting edge Japanese race bikes. I used to own a Honda CBR900RR, but have settled for the mellower VFR800. Also having fun in my Vette.
Philosophical recreations and meditation: Mostly old eastern philosophies (Zen, Bushido)
